| Bio: |  Hi, my name is Jen, and I'm in Japan! With that original start... A quick glance at my journal will reveal that I'm a slash fanfiction writer, that most of my stories revolve around the world of DC comics, and that most of them pair Superman and Batman. I got hooked on the pairing about two years ago, but of course I knew and loved stories about them most of my life. Part of the joy of the pairing, for me, is that the characters have appeared in so many different forms in so many different media that it's like having a dozen different pairings, all of whom happen to be named "Clark" and "Bruce." It's created a situation where I can enjoy putting the characters in different dynamics just about every story or series, and makes them almost endlessly entertaining to me. As a writer: I tend to write romances. This doesn't necessarily mean sappy and sweet, although many of my stories are on the sweet side. I enjoy putting my favorite characters into difficult or painful situations and then having them triumph together in the end: the classic definition of a romance. Many of my stories are explicit--underage or the squeamish beware!--but many more are not. I enjoy writing smut sometimes but it's not my primary mode of storytelling. My stories tend to focus on unresolved sexual tension and attraction that has been unvoiced for the characters--until now. :) I'm also quite monofannish--when I write a pairing I tend to write one pairing to the exclusion of all others. For a while it was Blake and Avon from Blakes 7, but Superman and Batman look to be a continuing theme for some time to come. I will dabble in other pairings, but when I'm on a stretch I tend to stay there. As a reader: I love slash, het, femslash, gen--the gender of the pairing and the rating of the fic isn't something that influences my choice to read. And I love to read sweet fluffy domestic fic, long plotty epics, and painful angst, so my tastes cut across those genres as well. Two things that are unlikely to catch my attention as a reader, although I'll sometimes give them a try if written by someone I love: pairings where one partner is much older than the other, and pairings between heroes and villains. I know they can be written well, I've seen excellent examples...and they just don't do a lot for me even when well-written, so I generally simply skip them. Besides those limitations, I'm a voracious reader of most anything. :) I don't always friend everyone who friends me, but that's only because I don't always have a lot of time to keep caught up on my friends page and I suffer agonizing guilt as a result! Please don't take it personally if I don't friend you back, don't feel you must friend me if I friended you, and always feel free to defriend me if our interests have drifted.
